For General Aviation enthusiasts, Oshkosh is the ultimate show. One of the many remarkable aspects are powerful ex-military fighters operated in private hands. One such aircraft is Art Nalls’ BAE Sea Harrier F/A N94422. Unless you have seen it first hand, it is impossible to appreciate its massive presence and awesome noise.

This month’s Opening Shot is one of the few that gives the reader some sense of this power. It was taken by Brian Stockland using his Canon EOS30D at Oshkosh on 1 August 2010 with a Canon Ultrasonic lens at 225mm. Exposure is 640th sec at f7.1.
