In a remarkable series of coups, ExecuJet Africa has shown that it has the ability to defy the current tough economic environment. In recognition of ExecuJet Africa’s capacity, quality standards and dominant key brand agencies, the South African Airforce has again awarded ExecuJet Maintenance the contract for the maintenance of its Falcons. ExecuJet’s last contract for this fleet ended in 2010 and it has now been renewed for a further five years. In another prestigious move, Blackhawk performance improvement systems signed a distributorship with ExecuJet Africa at the recent NBAA Expo in Las Vegas. ExecuJet South Africa is already an authorized Hawker Beechcraft Service Centre in Africa, and so this ties in nicely with Blackhawk’s range of King Air improvements. A further key agency acquisition is Garmin Avionics. Stephen Paddy, ExecuJet’s Sales and Marketing Director, says that this key avionics’ supplier makes the company the most successful Original Equipment dealer in Africa as it now holds most of the OEM dealerships required to support General Aviation. In addition, ExecuJet is the only Gulfstream, Bombardier and Honeywell Service Centre in South Africa. Stephen Paddy points out ExecuJet has been cushioned from the worst of the recession by the need for struggling corporates to seek out new markets. Many of the new opportunities are in Africa and, given the logistical challenges of working in Africa, ExecuJet’s charter operation has benefited. ExecuJet Africa is therefore strengthening its African presence with its massive new investment in its hangar and later, a boutique hotel at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed Airport. |
